Prof. Matteo Briganti (https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8576-3792) obtained his Bachelor's degree in Chemistry (2012) and his Master's degree in Chemical Sciences (2014) at the University of Florence (UNIFI), both with highest honors (summa cum laude). He then pursued his PhD studies (2014-2018) in Computational Chemistry and Molecular Magnetism at UNIFI, focusing on the computational modeling of molecular nanomagnets containing lanthanide ions, under the supervision of Prof. Federico Totti at the Molecular Magnetism Laboratory, directed by Prof. Roberta Sessoli.
After a post-doc period at the Federal University of Paraná in Brazil (2019-2021), Dr. Briganti was awarded a research fellowship in March 2021, funded by the "Giovani Ricercatori Protagonisti" (Young Leading Researchers) program of the University of Florence, with a project on metallocenes adsorbed on metallic and superconducting surfaces.
Since September 2023, he has been a Researcher (RTD-B) at the University of Florence, carrying out his activities at the "Ugo Schiff" Department of Chemistry. In 2024, Dr. Briganti obtained the prestigious Starting Grant from the Italian Science Fund (Fondo Italiano della Scienza), to study open-shell nanographene structures adsorbed on surfaces through a combined approach of Ab Initio methods and Artificial Intelligence.
